Geotextile Fabric
Geotextile is a synthetic material that is used in the plumbing and horticulture industry as a root barrier. It allows water to penetrate and drain through but provides a barrier to solid objects.
Use it to line raised garden beds, or in wicking beds to separate your coarse reservoir layer from your soil layer to prevent soil washing downwards.
(Note - if using to line raised garden beds, we'd recommend using more than a single layer. Any areas of overlap can be infiltrated by root growth over time.)
Geotextile is 2040mm wide, off the roll and is sold by the metre.
