Our soil concentrates are unique to The Green Life Soil Co, and are designed to convert Perth's sand into loam; the perfect growing medium to create a new garden. Soil concentrates are also great for topping up organic matter and feeding existing gardens.
While they are a soil improver; they are so much more besides. Designed to work really well in Perth's sandy soils, they are NOT a planting medium on their own. Just like you take cordial and water it down before drinking it, our soil concentrates need to be 'watered down' by mixing in your own soil.
Generally, we recommend using our concentrates at about a 50:50 ratio with your existing soil. If you have been improving your soil over time, you could perhaps use it at a 30:70 ratio just to feed up the soil ~ but be aware that if you're too stingy with concentrate you won't get good results. You should end up with quite a different looking soil than what you started with.
Our concentrates are made with a broad range of trace elements naturally deficient in W.A. soils (compost or manure alone would not necessarily include these). Ensuring you use a quality soil mix means healthy plant growth, but it also means essential minerals and nutrients accumulate in the vegetables which you get to eat!
They also contain beneficial microbes, and food sources for them. You do not need to add other fertlisers, or manures, etc. when using one of our concentrates. If you have a large area to mix, using a rotary hoe is an easier way to incorporate the concentrate into your soil. (These can be hired from most equipment hire shops.)
Our Vegetable Concentrate is certified organic by NASAA.
Our concentrates are available in bulk (delivery or pick up) and most are available bagged (either pick up or order via our online shop).
* If requesting a product to be bagged as a special order (ie. a product we do not normally carry in bags); minimum order quantities may apply. Please allow time for production. Please contact us for further information.Vegetable Concentrate
